support the educational efforts of our members and their families.
We participate in several scholarship programs throughout
the year. We’ll post them on this page when they’re
CCSEFCU’s Annual $1000 Scholarship Program
It’s time to once again recognize outstanding student members with our
annual $1,000 College Scholarship that can be used at any accredited college or university
(Check will be made payable to the college or university).
This scholarship program is for CCSEFCU members only. Students may join the credit union and then apply. All students in the Cecil County Public School System, Tome School, Tri-State Academy and West Nottingham Academy are eligible for membership.
Guidelines: for upcoming college students. To enter‚ the student must:
- be and/or become a member of CCSEFCU
- be a high school senior
- have a GPA of 2.5 or above
Submit a two page double-spaced essay on the topic: "Compare and contrast banks vs. credit unions and why most consumers choose credit unions as their primary financial institution."
All essays must be forwarded to the credit union on April 5, 2019, for a decision to be made by May 13, 2019. For more information, contact the credit union office at (410) 398-6921 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. All qualified students are encouraged to apply for this scholarship.
$12,000 College Scholarship Awards Program
The Credit Union Foundation MD/DC is pleased to announce a college scholarship program to help your college-bound credit union members meet their tuition costs.
The $12,000 Credit Union College Scholarship Program is underway now! Eligible credit union members may apply for one of ten $1,000 essay-based scholarships, one $1,000 video-based scholarship, and/or one $1,000 photo-based scholarship. And yes, eligible members may apply in all three categories!
This year’s essay topic (750 word max):
- "How can your credit union help you become financially independent?"
This year’s video topic:
- "Create a 60-second video showing how your credit union helps you achieve your financial goals."
This year’s photo theme:
Any member of a Maryland or D.C.-based credit union
who is entering their freshmen through senior year of college or trade school may apply.
