Scholarships Since
we were founded as a credit union for teachers, we proudly
support the educational efforts of our members and their families.
We participate in several scholarship programs throughout
the year. We’ll post them on this page when they’re
accepting applications.
Scholarship Winner
Congratulations to Kathryn Kerns, the winner of our 2012 $1000 Credit Union Essay Contest. Kathryn will be attending Towson University this fall.
$1000 CCSEFCU’s Annual Scholarship Program
To be used at any accredited college or university.
(Check will be made payable to the college or university)
This scholarship program is for CCSEFCU members only. Students may join the credit union and then apply. All students in the Cecil County Public School System are eligible for membership.
Guidelines: for upcoming college students. To enter‚ the student must:
- be and/or become a member of CCSEFCU
- be a high school senior
- have a GPA of 2.5 or above
- submit a two page double-spaced essay on the topic: "Is personal financial education important? How can Cecil County School Employees’ FCU help you become financially literate?"
All essays must be forwarded to the credit union at 203 Booth Street, Elkton, MD by April 19th, 2013 for a decision to be made by May 10th 2013. $11,000 College Scholarship Awards Program
The Credit Union Foundation of MD & DC is pleased to announce its $11,000 College Scholarship Program for 2013. Ten $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to the winning essay-based applicants in May 2013, and a new video-based award category has been added and will earn the selected video producer a $1,000 college scholarship.
This year’s essay and video topic is:
“How can your credit union help you become financially literate?”
Applicants must be a member of a MD or DC-based credit union. You must be entering your freshman through senior year at college. Your 750-word (or less) essay or 60-second (or less) video will serve as a basis of our $11‚000 in scholarship awards.
