we were founded as a credit union for teachers, we proudly
support the educational efforts of our members and their families.
We participate in several scholarship programs throughout
the year. We’ll post them on this page when they’re
accepting applications.
2009 $11,000 Scholarship Program
Awards Increased, Video Category Added!
The Credit Union Foundation of MD & DC is pleased to announce its $11,000 College Scholarship Program for 2009. Ten $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to the winning essay-based applicants in May 2009, and a new video-based award category has been added and will earn the selected video producer a $1,000 college scholarship.

Announcing the 2008 Education Exchange College Grant Program
Cecil County School Employees Federal Credit Union, in conjunction
with the ACCEL/Exchange Network, is once again participating
in the college grant program, which provides $50,000 in grants
to deserving college-bound students.
The Education Exchange grant program is open to all college-bound, high school seniors graduating in
2008. To enter, students simply mail your completed application to ACCEL/Exchange Network for judging.
The entry deadline is March 15, 2008. A total of four $5,000.00 and 30 $1,000.00 grants will be awarded
July 2008. Applications are available at the credit union office.

(Check will be made payable to the college or university)
This scholarship program is for CCSEFCU members only. Students may join the credit union and then apply. All students in the Cecil County Public School System are eligible for membership.
Guidelines: for upcoming college students. To enter, the student must:
- be and/or become a member of CCSEFCU
- be a high school senior
- have a GPA of 2.5 or above
- submit a two page double-spaced essay on the topic: “How Are Credit Unions Different from Banks?” For example: How are credit unions able to offer the same products and services as banks at better rates with lower fees?
All essays must be forwarded to the credit union at 203 Booth Street, Elkton, MD by April 20, 2009 for a decision to be made by May 8, 2009. For more information, contact the credit union office at 410-398-6921 or e-mail… info@ccsefcu.org.
